Mother is such a simple word.
But to me there’s meaning seldom heard.
For everything I am today
My mother’s love showed me the way.

Celebrating Mothers Across the Country

This coming May 12, families all over the United States will take the day to honor and celebrate the person who is often known as the glue holding everyone together: Mom. Since 1914, Mother’s Day has taken place around the second Sunday in May. It’s a day to show your mom just how much you care and appreciate her.

A couple fun facts about Mother’s Day:
  • More calls are made on Mother’s Day than any other day of the year – around a whopping 122 million calls are made on the second Sunday of May.
  • Around one quarter of all the flowers purchased throughout the year are bought for Mother’s Day.
  • According to the National Restaurant Association, an estimated 87 million adults dined out on Mother’s Day in 2018.
  • Individuals spent over $23 billion on gifts for Mother’s Day last year.
  • Mother’s Day is celebrated all over the world – just on different days than the U.S. version. Countries like Canada, Australia and Thailand all have designated days to honor mom.

Whether you plan on showering your mom with flowers and gifts, sending her a sentimental card, taking her to brunch or simply just enjoying some time together, we hope you enjoy the day to the fullest.
