Mother is such a simple word.
But to me there’s meaning seldom heard.
For everything I am today
My mother’s love showed me the way.

Celebrating Mothers Across the Country

On Sunday, May 10, families all over the United States will take the day to honor and celebrate the person who is often known as the glue holding everyone together: Mom. Since 1914, Mother’s Day has taken place around the second Sunday in May. It’s a day to show your mom just how much you care and appreciate her.

This year, celebrating mom might be a challenging due to the social distancing rules set in place to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. While sitting down with family for Mother’s Day brunch or dinner may not be possible right now, there are still plenty of ways to honor mom – while also keeping everyone safe and healthy. For instance, you could:
  • Order takeout from her favorite restaurant and have it delivered to her door.
  • Drop off flowers, a gift or a thoughtful card.
  • Bake her (or buy her!) a favorite sweet treat and share it while sitting outside.
  • Host a virtual Mother’s Day happy hour call with the entire family.
  • Send a gift card to her favorite restaurant, shop or to a spa to use when businesses start reopening.
No matter how you celebrate mom this year, we hope you enjoy the day to the fullest.
