Florida Business Insurance Requirements and Laws
With the exception of workers' compensation coverage and commercial auto, business insurance is not required by Florida state law. However, the policies described above are recommended for all Florida small businesses.
If a small business has four or more employees who work either full-time or part-time, the state of Florida requires employers to provide workers' compensation coverage for injuries that may occur due to work-related activities. Likewise, if your Florida small business utilizes vehicles like vans, trucks or cars as part of daily business operations, you are required to be covered with commercial auto insurance for property damage, bodily injury and personal injury protection.
